The Sociology of Power journal is a quarterly Peer-reviewed Open Access international interdisciplinary scientific publication published at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration on the basis of the Philosophical and Sociological Faculty of the Institute of Social Sciences.
The journal publishes original articles, reviews, translations, interviews and reviews on social sciences and related fields of knowledge in Russian and English.
The journal focuses on the topic of power in all its forms and social/cultural inequalities, discrimination and other (negative) effects it generates or supports.
The journal gives preference to the publication of thematic issues with an emphasis on current theoretical problems and recent empirical research, with the encouragement of interdisciplinary discussions.
Our mission is to introduce to the reader current theoretical discussions on these and related topics in the social sciences and to show their practical value, primarily based on Russian realities. With regard to this mission, one of the objectives is to cover for Russian-speaking readers the most significant theoretical achievements of foreign sociology, which are presented in the “translations” section, commented by specialists and adjusted for Russian context.
The journal favors thematic issues focusing on current theoretical problems and recent empirical research, encouraging interdisciplinary discussions.
The topics of our issues range from actor-network theory to animal studies, from political anthropology to the sociology of age. The topics of planned issues are posted on the website in advance.
