<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This review is devoted to the recent concept of communicative capitalismintroduced by American social theorist and left activist Jodi Dean in2002. Communicative capitalism is a political-economic formation inwhich the convergence of democracy, capitalism, network technologies, and media occurs. Under these new conditions, the primary democraticvalues materialize in networked communication technologies, whichleads to a reliance of communicative capitalism on the exploitation ofcommunication. This causes a radical shift in network communication:now the fact of “contributions” to the “circulation of content” is moresignificant than the content of a message. The review traces the evolutionof Dean’s conceptual framework, outlines key aspects and ideas whichwere used for its elaboration (e.g. the Lacanian concepts of jouissance anddrive, Slavoj Žižek’s “interpassivity” and “post-politics”, “whatever being”by Giorgio Agamben, “zero-institution” by Claude Lévi-Strauss). The authorconcludes that modern world events and trends in online communication(Twitter and Facebook Revolutions, frames for profile pictures on Facebook, online petitions, surveys and hashtags, very popular accounts with largenumbers of followers) make it possible to discern the high potential of theframework as an eminently applicable interdisciplinary theoretical lensand methodological tool.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>теория медиа</kwd><kwd>коммуникация</kwd><kwd>сети</kwd><kwd>коммуникативный капитализм</kwd><kwd>цифровой капитализм</kwd><kwd>марксизм</kwd><kwd>Джоди Дин</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Media Theory</kwd><kwd>communication</kwd><kwd>networks</kwd><kwd>communicative capitalism</kwd><kwd>digital capitalis</kwd><kwd>Marxism</kwd><kwd>Jodi Dean</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Агамбен Дж.
