The article presents a technology for collecting spatially attributed data on urban environment objects in field studies. The technology is based on automated geotagging of photographs. A detailed plan for both the field stage and the data processing stage is presented and further GISprocessing possibilities are outlined. The technology is illustrated by gathered data on the usage of Belarusian language in the public space of some cities in Belarus Republic.
